I left the National Restaurant Association Show with two big takeaways.
First, AI is everywhere. POS, inventory, accounting, payroll, labor, maintenance - every part of the restaurant stack is starting to change. But it’s still early. Restaurant operators are trying to sort out what is real, what is useful, and what actually helps inside the four walls.
Second, the economic pressure on restaurants is very real. Sales are harder to grow, and food and labor costs are forcing teams to find savings wherever they can.
That combination is why I’m so focused on workforce intelligence.
The best technology in this industry has always been practical and can help the team make a better call in the moment. It takes work off a manager’s plate and it makes the day run a little smoother.
That is where I think Ando can help – using AI to help restaurants run better and help workers build more predictable lives.
